If you move, you have to fill out a new voter registration application (not just mail in your old registration card). You can fill out an application here: www.rockthevote.com.

If you have already filled out a new application, don't worry. You don't always get a new card when you register to vote.

In order to change your address, you need to fill out a new voter registration application with your updated information. The voter registration deadline was Tuesday, October 5th. But, you are in luck! You have until tomorrow to take advantage of "grace period" registration and voting.

There is a new law that allows for "grace period" registration and voting in Illinois. Here are the details (from http://www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections/registertovote/Pages/WhereandHowtoRegister.aspx#grace):

Grace period registration and voting

Grace-period registration and voting is the only way to register or change your address or name after the regular registration period ends. It is also the only way to vote if you are not registered or if your voter registration is not up to date.

For the November 2, 2010 Gubernatorial Election, grace period registration and voting will be conducted Oct. 6-26 at the Clerk's downtown office (69 W. Washington, Chicago) and our five suburban mini-centers.

Grace period registrants will either vote on touch screen voting equipment immediately after registering or by absentee paper ballot.

Grace period registrants are not eligible to vote at the polls on Election Day or take part in Early Voting.

Unfortunately, no. While there is "grace period" registration in Illinois that occurs after the October 5th deadline, it ends on October 26th.
