  What is your overall vision for your ward and/or the city of Chicago? What are its biggest problems and biggest assets? How will you build upon each?

  0 0 I have a primary goal which is to end this "Culture of Corruption" in the 8th Ward. No more Stroger soldiers and no more "rubber stamping". Michelle Harris has got to go. This is the resounding theme and energy of the entire 8th Ward. Jobs - Education - Reduced Crime - Better Healthcare. Let's go back to the business of "people".   Chicago is seen as a very racially diverse yet divided city? Do you agree with that sentiment? What, if any, steps would you take to address that?

  0 0 Chicago will be diverse and divided but my concern initially is with black people. We need to create a culture of being educated, hard-working, and unified. Our economic power is astounding and massive. If we direct our spending to our communities and regain our economic prowess, we can unify because we are a house divided.   How do you feel about the claim that Chicago politics and city government is rife with corruption?

  0 0 Chicago politics was designed to have a strong Mayor and even stronger City Council. I think term limits are needed and transparency with a system of "checks and balances" is a must.   How do you plan to deal with the city budget and the current city deficit?

  0 0 We must prohibit the City from using long-term reserves to balance the budget. We can help balance the budget by using the interest that would accrue from left over reserves from the skyway and the parking meters.   How do you perceive the issues of drugs and crime and what will you do to address them?

  0 0 Drugs and crime are indeed a major part of our community's demise. I have mentored several of our young and old brothers in the area of crime prevention. We have to stop protecting the criminal, as we so often do. If we take back our communities we will see a definite decrease in criminal activity, without having to solely depend on the police. I'm involved in the crack down of drug distribution and usage. I bring many drug offenders to NA meetings and support them while there. I provide support meetings and brotherhood gatherings to hopefully strengthen people who are battling drug addiction.   What are your feelings about public housing and assisted living in the city of Chicago? Are there particular actions that you will take on the issue?

  0 1 These statements, through my research are on point with my views of Public Housing. "Demonizing the poor and the many families (and especially kids) that -- for a variety of reasons -- live in public housing complexes is misguided and mean spirited. But it is reasonable to expect those that are given free or very inexpensive housing on the taxpayer dime to be good stewards of the investment and give something back. Those who receive government-subsidized housing should be respectful of that property and contribute to our community, rather than simply benefiting from the system and being rewarded for, in some instances, making irresponsible decisions."   What are your thoughts about the costs of housing in Chicago, both for ownership and rental? Are there particular actions that you will take?

  0 0 On a national level, housing costs in Chicago are $1,254. That's 30% less than what they are in San Jose, Calif. one of the top three cities for housing costs.   What will you do to improve the Chicago Public School system, from kindergarten through high school?

  0 0 -I will work with CPS to allow principals to have more power over our ward schools. -I will work with CPS to attract high quality teachers and principals with fair evaluations based on performance. -I will work with CPS to not close ward schools without first overhauling faculty and reviewing their educational downfalls. -I will work to provide subsidized vocational/technical training for ward residents. -I will work to provide entrepreneurial training for ward residents.   What are your plans to increase job and employment opportunities in the city of Chicago?

  0 0 -I will attract new businesses to our ward that are safe and beneficial to our community. -I will provide workshops that will prepare ward residents for employment. -I will to work to get the next Mayor's support of the Green Growth Platform, which focuses on developing clean energy, cleaning up polluted coal plants, improving recycling citywide, conserving water, protecting Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. This in turn will spur job creation and economic growth. -I will to develop an 8th Ward business network for ward business and job referrals.
